Steven Verschoot

Steven is a Managing Associate at ARGO.

He has built up a broad experience working for Belgian and international financial institutions, investment funds and corporates on a wide range of financial transactions. His practice focuses on financial law and debt financing (including corporate and acquisition finance, export finance and asset-based finance) and assistance on regulatory matters with regard to various financial services (including a.o. MiFID II, IFR/D, PSDII). He has extensive experience advising on the regulation of the activities of investment funds and their managers (AIFMD, UCITS), as well as the preventive part of AML regulation. He also assisted on various capital market files.

Steven is a graduate of the University of Leuven (Research Master of Laws Degree, 2015) and studied at Tilburg University and New York University. He has been a member of the Bar since 2015. Prior to joining ARGO in 2020, Steven worked at Allen & Overy in Brussels and Antwerp and completed a secondment at the legal department of a major international bank.

In addition to his work at ARGO, Steven is also a part-time teaching assistant in financial law at KU Leuven. He authored a number of articles on international corporate, financial and derivatives law.
