Michiel is a managing associate at Argo’s dispute resolution department.
Michiel stands close to his clients during their most challenging times. He represents and advises clients in a broad range of commercial disputes and in relation to their crisis management in general. Throughout his career Michiel has gained notable experience in corporate and financial litigations, insolvency and restructuring and contractual disputes. He also defended clients before criminal courts on issues such as anti-bribery and corruption, forgery, and health and safety regulations. He is particularly familiar with the specifics of the financial, insurance, private equity and auditing and compliance sectors.
Prior to joining Argo in 2021, Michiel was an associate at Linklaters and a researcher and teaching assistant at the University of Leuven. He holds a Master’s in law from the University of Leuven and the University of Edinburgh (2013), and an LL.M in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge (2016). He authored various articles on property, contract and insolvency law.
